A loan of $725 helped purchase sacks of fertiliser.

Rafael's story

Rafael, of 26 years old, is a responsible and hard-working young man. He lives in his own house with his wife, Maribel, of 25 years old and their four dear children, to whom he wishes to provide a better quality of life. Rafael works in the cultivation of cacao, coffee, and coco leaves. This activity has provided him with the necessary income to maintain him and his family, which is why he works so hard every day on his harvests. He even takes his products all the way to the city of San Francisco, where according to him, he earns the most money for his products. What he loves most about his work is keeping pests away from his crops that might threaten the productivity of his labour. He has spent 2 years doing this type of work and considers the most difficult part of it to the transportation of his products, since the road is very long and exhausting. Over time, he hopes that his cultivations will improve and that the sale of them will increase his income. This is his fourth credit with MFP. He feels obligated to make all of his payments punctually, since he does not want to cause problems with the members of his communal bank, where he is greatly cherished. With the 2,000 soles that he is applying for, he plans to use it to purchase more fertiliser for his crops.
