A loan of $500 helped to purchase 50 litres of paraffin for resale.

Malu's story

Malu is a married woman with nine children, all of whom attend school. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expense is food.

She has operated a paraffin sales business for the past five years, selling from home to her neighbours and passersby. Malu faces a major challenge of seasonality in her business. She hopes to establish a filling station in the future.

With the Kshs 40,000 she wants to purchase 50 litres of paraffin for resale. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to improve her business.
