Julia Maya's story

In the city of Portoviejo, the capital of Manabí, known for many years as the city of the Reales Tamarindos Stadium, the members of the Virgen de Monserrate Community Bank meet every fifteen days. Here we meet Mrs. Julia. She is 40 years old and separated, but has two children ages 17 and 18 from this relationship. The children are in school and university. Julia has been part of the Community Bank for one year and she likes it because the interest rates are low compared to the other Banks. She is a merchant. She sells Yanbal products (beauty products, cosmetics, perfume and women´s accessories). She has a group of sellers under her. She works four days a week, three hours a day. The products that she sells the most are perfume and costume jewelry. She also sells clothing through a catalogue. This loan is to buy products such as- creams, perfumes, costume jewelry and other products. Her dream is to be the head of Yanbal.
