Zaina's story

Zaina N. lives in the Kisaasi neighborhood in the city of Kampala, Uganda. She is married and has 4 children, all of whom are in school. She also takes care of additional family members (brother).

Zaina has a business selling second-hand clothes. She has been in this business for over 10 years, and she works 7 days out of every week. Zaina sells her products at the market by means of retail.

She also generates additional income through a retail shop.The main business challenges for Zaina include thieves and transportation. Her goals and aspirations for her business are to start importing second-hand clothes and to sell wholesale only.

Zaina lives in a home that she rents. She has access to electricity and piped water. Her major monthly expenses include rent, food, school fees, and medication.
