A loan of $550 helped to buy material to expand his business making and selling unbaked bricks and regular bricks.

Miguel's story

Miguel is a 44 year-old father who lives with his wife and two dependent children in Capote sector of Picsi district, 20 minutes from the city of Chiclayo.

The need to get ahead in spite of his family's financial limitations, led Miguel to start work as a builder 20 years ago. For the last 20 years, this has been Miguel's main source of support and it has helped him to get his family ahead in life. He has gradually become known in the trade and now his work is valued for the responsibility and efficiency with which it is carried out.

Owing to the high demand in his area, he also set up a business making unbaked bricks and regular bricks. This is helping him to make additional income. Currently he would like to buy material to expand his business and thereby improve his sales. For this reason, he is requesting a loan for 1,500 Peruvian soles from Edpyme Alternativa.

Miguel has already had a Kiva loan through Edpyme Alternativa and our seed money product. He used that money to acquire tools to improve his work as a builder. He is very grateful to the people who supported him.
