A loan of $2,375 helped a member to buy perfume.

Quimey Group's story

The “Quimey” community bank has 20 members who live in the city of Villarrica.

María Cristina is the group's secretary. In the photo she is in the back row, third from the left. She sells perfumes and purses both door-to-door and from her home. She has been doing this for 2 months. Before she started her business, she worked as a cashier in a bus company.

María Cristina will use this loan to buy perfume. Her goal is to double her income so that she can grow in her business. She lives with her husband and her only child, an 8 year-old daughter.

María Cristina has found this loan from Fondo Esperanza to be very useful in helping her continue with her business. She is also happy with the trust and solidarity which the group members have shared during their group meetings together with their advisor.
