Hotel Lane Traders Group's story

Meet with members of the “Hotel Lander Traders” group from Magburaka, a town in northern Sierra Leone. They are all entrepreneurs who have come to SMT, a partner of Kiva, to apply for a loan of SLL 800,000. With the help of this loan they will be able to expand their businesses, make more sales and consequently improve their living conditions.

Isatu K. is the leader of this group. The thirty-five-year-old is married to a businessman and they have three children. Isatu has been a businesswoman for three years now, selling ready-to-wear-clothes. With her share of this loan she will be able to expand her business by buying more clothes at wholesale to add to her current stock. This will help her increase her business sales and profitability.
