A loan of $1,000 helped to buy spare parts, oils and filters.

Yina María's story

Every fortnight the members of the 'Marianita de Jesús' community bank meet in the beautiful city of Bahía De Caraquez which is known for its beaches, its good food and the warmth of its people.

Here we meet Yina. Yina is 28 years old, married, and has 4 children aged 10, 8, 6 and 3. The three oldest children are in elementary school. Her husband is a mechanic.

Yina and her husband have a garage in which they carry out a lot of work. They also sell spare parts, tires and oils. They work from Monday to Saturday, from 7.30am to 6.00pm. They work with the help of two employees. Whilst her husband works as a mechanic, Yina takes care of the accounts and buying and selling spare parts. They tell us that they have been in this business for 9 years and, although it was difficult at first, over time they have attracted many customers who are loyal to their business because of the work they do and their responsibility.

This loan will be used to buy oil, spare parts and filters. Yina has been a member of her community bank since the beginning and she likes it for the benefits that our institution provides. Her goal is for her children to be good professionals.
