A loan of $900 helped to buy fabric, Yanbal products and cans of water.

María Auxiliadora's story

Every fortnight the members of the 'Los Laureles' community bank meet in the beautiful city of Bahía De Caraquez which is known for its beaches, its good food and the warmth of its people.

Here we find María. She is 64 years old and lives with her common-law husband who is a taxi driver. They have four grown-up children. The youngest is in high school. Several years ago, María studied dressmaking in a community college in Bahía. She has been a member of her community bank since it was first founded and she likes it for the additional benefits with which our institution provides her.

María has a small dressmaking workshop in her home. She does a lot of work for people who want her to realize their dressmaking projects. As well as sewing, she also sells Yanbal products (beauty products, cosmetics, perfumes and ladies' accessories), and cans of water. She works every day in her different businesses, from 8.00am to 7.00pm.

This loan will be used to buy fabric, Yanbal products and cans of water. Her dreams are to have bigger premises and a better business.
