A loan of $725 helped to purchase supplies for planting corn and feed for animals.

Maria Etelvina's story

Etelvina is forty-six years old. She lives in the village of Sandial in the district of Pitipo, a region of northern Peru near the cities of Lambayeque and Chiclayo. She shares her home with her husband and their one young child.

Etelvina and her husband are farmers. They both raise animals and manage a small plot of farm land. Etelvina raises pigs and turkeys. Her husband primarily tends to the land, raising yellow corn. She plans to use the loan to complete the next farm planting and purchase additional feed for her animals.

This will be Etelvina’s second loan funded through Kiva. She paid punctually and used the previous loan responsibly. She has used a portion of the funds from this loan to repay the previous loan. She has good personal and business references from her community and other businesses. Edpyme Alternativa is proud to be able to work with her and assist her in meeting her goals.
