A loan of $725 helped to buy nutritionally balanced animal feed and to make improvements to the animal pens.

María Elsa's story

María Elsa, 29, is married living with her husband and four children in San José, Mórrope district, a rural and commercial zone inhabited by humble, hard working people. It is located more than an hour away from the city of Chiclayo. She has a few small farm animals that she raises in an area of her backyard. She feeds them basic grains and natural grasses. When they reach their ideal level of development she sells them to the various merchants that frequent the area where she lives. She has been working in this occupation now for over three years. Raising animals for sale is the most important source of income she has. Thanks to it she’s able to help her husband, who works as a field hand in nearby farms, support the family. She wants to acquire nutritionally balanced feed and make some improvements to the corrals so that the animals will grow better and she will earn higher income from their sales, especially during the Christmas season, which is when demand increases. She has, therefore, asked Edpyme Alternativa for a 2000 new sol loan that will help her reach this goal.
