A loan of $200 helped to buy sacks of fertilizer and hire laborers to help him plant his potatoes.

Manuel's story

Manuel is 28 years old. He is single and lives with his dad Juan, who is 60, and his 2 brothers, 15 year-old Franz and 14 year-old Alex. They live together in their own home which is located in Centro Culebrayoc. Manuel works as a farmer. His main crops are potatoes, peas, beans and other vegetables. He says that since he was 15 years old he has been looking after his crops and with time and a lot of effort and hard work these have become the best in the wholesale market of the city of Tarma, which is where he sells his produce. The satisfaction which Miguel has is “to be able to help my father in raising and educating my brothers”. In the future, he would like to open a grocery store from which he can make better profits.

This is Manuel's tenth loan with MFP and he assures us that, in all this time of working hard together with his community bank, he has managed to obtain a lot of success and blessings. He is therefore grateful for the support he has been given. Manuel will use his loan to buy several sacks of organic fertilizer for his potato harvest and he will also invest in hiring laborers who will help him with his 100 sacks of a different variety of potato which he will plant on his land.
