A loan of $450 helped purchase merchandise for her store.

Dolores Del Rocio's story

Sra. Dolores G. is a member of the Communal Bank “Mujeres Luchadoras” (Fighting Women) and lives in the city of Cuenca, which is also known as “Santa Ana de los 4 Ríos”. The city is known for its culture and traditions that make it enchanting, its wide variety of cuisines, and its warm and friendly people.

Sra. Dolores is 41 years old, married, and has two children (ages 21 and 12). Her older child works and helps with the household expenses. The younger child, a daughter, attends high school in the city. Her husband is a professional driver and works as a private chauffeur. She does not have her own home since her family currently lives at the house of a deceased relative.

Doña Dolores works at her own grocery store, a business she started five years ago. She opens her store at 8am and closes at 10pm, Sunday through Sunday. Dolores is returning to the Communal Bank after leaving the group a year ago. The money from her loan will be invested in the purchase of more products for her store. Her dream is to have her own home.
