Nida's story

Nida S. is from the village of Manila Group, Wao, Lanao del Sur. She is 44 years old. Nida is married and has four school-aged children. To make a living, she owns and operates a sari-sari (variety) retail shop, selling daily use products such as shampoo, soap, toothpaste, canned goods and junk foods in the local community. She has been engaged in her business for over four years and earns approximately $145 a month for these activities.

In 2010, Nida joined HSPFI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. She has successfully repaid a previous loan of 5,000 PHP from HSPFI. This previous loan was used to purchase additional inventory and as working capital.

Nida is requesting a new loan of 7,000 PHP which will be used to purchase additional products like canned goods and breads. This will be her 2nd loan from HSPFI. She plans to use the additional revenue generated to expand her business.
