Manzanitas Group's story

The “Manzanitas” community bank is a group which is beginning its first loan cycle with the Cascada regional office. It has eight members. The president of this cycle's executive committee is Celsa, the treasurer is Justina and the secretary is Eustaquia. The ladies all have different businesses and these include: light bulb sales (five members), handicrafts, making blankets and food sales.

Celsa, the president of the “Manzanitas” community bank, lives with her partner and seven children. She became a member of her community bank when her friend invited her to take part. She has been selling food for 10 years. She started in this business through her own initiative. She is currently requesting 1,500 bolivianos to buy supplies for making food.

When we asked her what she most liked about Pro Mujer she said “the meetings”.

In this group: Celsa, Gimena Nena, Justina , Roxana Jhovanna, Julia, Juanita, Santusa, Eustaquia
