A loan of $550 helped to buy several dozen bottles of various natural remedies and vitamins.

Leyda Luz's story

Ms. Leyda is a member of the Las Almendras ["The Almonds"] communal bank, in the department of Ucayali. She is 39 years old and her husband works as a teacher. She has been working with loans from Manuela Ramos for two years.

She used her first loan to start her business selling natural products so that she could help her husband with expenses and save a little money. She brings her products from the city of Lima, where she buys them by the dozen.

She will use this new loan of S/. 1,500 nuevos soles to buy two dozen bottles of chanca piedra, a dozen jars of maca, a dozen bottles of sangre de grado, a dozen bottles of chanca piedra [all natural remedies], and a dozen bottles of vitamins.

Leyda is grateful to Manuela Ramos because thanks to the organization's loans, many women are able to grow their businesses.
