A loan of $375 helped to buy 50 sacks of potato seed.

Enma's story

Enma, 28, is a single, hard working woman who together with her mother, Miguelina, 51, struggles to get ahead. They live in their parents’ house in the city of Tarma. This beautiful and brave woman works daily selling potatoes at wholesale and at retail. She has been in this business for 10 years. Her mother became ill and Enma had to take over the family business, now in the wholesale market, where she sells. Everyone admires and respects her for her kind heart and dedication. Her monthly profits are around 2000 to 3000 new soles.

Enma is also a farmer. She grows potatoes, carrots and leaf vegetables on her parents’ farmland. Every weekend she spreads manure, waters and cultivates. She is saving up to buy a house of her own.

This is her 6th loan with MFP. She is President of her communal bank and feels proud to lead a group of enterprising women.

If she were to get the requested loan, she will be able to buy 50 sacks of potato seed that will allow her to plant two hectares of farmland.
