A loan of $825 helped to hire laborers to help him spread fertilizer and clear the weeds from his plantations.

Pablo's story

Pablo is 54 years old. He lives with his partner, 42 year-old Antonia. They have 6 children together but only live with 5 of them. They live in their own home which is in Sanchirio community (in the Peruvian central jungle). Every day this dynamic and hard-working man heads off to his more than 7 hectares of farmland where he has been growing coffee for 12 years. His effort, hard work and determination have made Pablo's coffee beans the best in the area and this is clear from the fact that coffee traders constantly visit his plantations to buy his entire harvests. Many others, like Pablo, are improving their coffee production because the current market requires quality crops. Pablo is planning to open a business buying and selling coffee wholesale. This is his third loan with MFP and as a hard-working and punctual member of his community bank, he feels fulfilled and committed to their work. He is planning to invest his loan in paying the salary of the laborers who he will hire to spread fertilizer and clear the weeds from his coffee crops since sometimes he cannot manage this on his own.
