Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $375 helped for crop care.

Yunieth Del Carmen's story

Mrs. Yunieth del Carmen B. L. is a young, 27 year old single mother living in the San Caralampio neighborhood. She has been a farmer since she was 15 years old. Her crops have been adversely affected by insect infestations.

Her father’s help made it possible for her to acquire the fields and in the future she hopes to plant crops that are consumed in mass and that will help her economy.

For now she is asking for funds to buy fertilizers and farming supplies that will provide the optimum health and sanitation for the crops so that she will be able to build a house so that her young son can develop better.

This would be her 6th loan and she tells us how very helpful the previous loans have been and how much the lives of herself and her son have improved thanks to them.
