A loan of $350 helped to buy construction material (cement, galvanized roofing sheets, sand, etc.).

Amelia Graca's story

Amélia Graça C. was born in the city of Matola in Maputo Province, located in southern Mozambique. She is married and is pregnant. She finished 12th grade but did not continue studying because she was not able to enroll in a higher education program. She lives in her own house with her husband and supports her mother and nephew by sending them some money to help pay for household expenses.

She has never left Maputo Province. For more than 2 years, Amélia has worked a teacher. She does not employ anybody to help her. She earns a monthly salary of 3,359 MZN from this job and 2,000 MZN as a hairdresser at a beauty salon. She uses the money to pay for household expenses and manages to save some of her earnings in her house in order to pay for home improvements.

Amélia has never had loans with other banks. She found out about Hluvuku through her colleagues who are also clients of this institution. This is her first loan with Hluvuku. She is requesting 12,000 MZN, which she will use to buy construction material (cement, galvanized roofing sheets, sand, etc.) in order to keep making house improvements.

She promises to pay back the loan on time so she will be able to have access to others in the future. She plans to request new loans in order to finish construction on her house.
