Gbènato Rébecca's story

Born in 1957, Gbènato Rébecca B. is a widow with three children in her care, all of whom are in school. Rébecca lives together with her children in Ekpè, in the town of Sèmè-Podji, Benin. Rébecca never attended school. To provide for herself and her children, Rébecca has run a business selling various items (canned goods, sugar, milk, soap, cosmetics, etc.) for 22 years in her area. She gets her supplies at Dantokpa, the international market in Benin. She is a longstanding client of ALIDE, having obtained four loans, all of which were repaid properly. Faced with the increasing demands from her customers, Rébecca hopes to increase her stock of goods and obtain greater profits; for this reason, she is seeking another loan from ALIDE.
