Concepcion's story

This is Concepcion C., 55, resident of Caloocan City, Philippines. She is married to Rolando C., A vendor and her business partner. At this time, Concepcion is working hard to be able to support her family financially, like their everyday expenses.

Concepcion operates a retailing business. What she basically does is buy general merchandise from wholesalers, then sell them piecemeal with a little profit. Products can range from furniture to household appliances, electronic devices, clothing and other products of the like. Customers are attracted to buy due to the low selling prices and the many options they are offered. Her regular customers are her neighbors and the local community. She earns a minimum of Php200 in sales every day.

To help her continue operations of her business, she is requesting a Php19, 000 loan. She will be use the loan to buy more quantities and varieties of products to expand her product inventory. She expects a boost in her business income as she expands her business.

Concepcion dreams to have her house renovated by the end of the year. She faithfully meets up with her co-fellowship* members to share stories of her work every week.

* All CCT community partners / clients are organized into fellowship groups that meet on a weekly basis. A fellowship group is composed of 15 to 30 community partners. The fellowship groups gather each week to study the Word of God, build social capital, and pay Micro Finance loans.
