Ma. Amparo's story

Ma. Amparo M. is from the village of Villa Marzo Cordon. She is 39 years old, married, and has 2 school-aged children. To make a living, Ma. Amparo owns and operates a vulcanizing shop. The main source of income for the business comes from providing services in the local community. Ma. Amparo has been engaged in her business for over 7 years and earns approximately 3000 PHP a month for these activities.

In 2008, Ma. Amparo joined ASKI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Ma. Amparo has successfully repaid a previous loan of 8000 PHP from ASKI. This previous loan was used to purchase equipment to improve the business. Ma. Amparo is requesting a new loan of 5000 PHP which will be used to purchase equipment to improve the business. This loan will be the 5th loan taken out by Ma. Amparo from ASKI. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve/expand her business.
