Manuel's story

Manuel A. is from the village of Marannao. He is 48 years old, married, and has 5 adult-aged children. To make a living, Manuel plants and harvests corn for sale. Manuel has been engaged in his business for over 30 years and earns approximately 28000 PHP per harvest.

In 2007, Manuel joined ASKI to gain access to financial services to help improve his living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Manuel has successfully repaid a previous loan of 17000 PHP from ASKI. This previous loan was used to purchase additional seeds, seedlings, and young crops to raise. Manuel is requesting a new loan of 21000 PHP which will be used to purchase additional seeds, seedlings and young crops to raise. This loan will be the 8th loan taken out by Manuel from ASKI. He plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve/expand his business.
