A loan of $375 helped buy supplies for farming business.

Teodosia's story

Teodosia, 42, lives with Isaias, 38. They have 6 children, 5 of whom still live with them, in the house they own in the town of Sanchirio del Palomar (in a forested region of central Peru). This hard-working woman has operated a farming business for 8 years. She grows avocados and platanos, but her coffee crop is her main source of income. She has 4 hectares of land that produce a good grade of coffee bean and she wants to find other markets where she can get mO. money for her crop. She now goes to the city of Tarma once a month where she sells to a wholesaler, Sra. Gladys. She wants to sell her crop in the capital in the future because she thinks she can get a better price there and, in turn, expand her business. This is Teodosia's first MFP loan and she is sure that--with help from her community bank--she can meet the goals she has for the farm. She will use the loan to buy 6 sacks of organic manure for her coffee crop.
