A loan of $500 helped buying soft drinks and ingredients to make hamburgers.

Maria De Jesus's story

María lives in San Miguel, in the department of the same name. She is 60 years old and runs a cafeteria. She lives with her husband and has three children, but they are already married and live with their own families.

She works in the cafeteria from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., or sometimes later for the sake of her customers. She has a great deal of experience, since she has operated the business for 18 years. Currently, she is requesting a loan to buy soft drinks, snacks, and ingredients for rolls, hamburgers, etc. She wants to make this investment because San Miguel is having a festival, and many people are visiting the city. For this reason, she would like to have supplies to prepare for her sales and take advantage of the situation to increase her earnings.

Her objective is to work with her own funds; she hopes one day to have the economic resources to support her sales.
