Odette's story

Born in 1980 in Calavi, a town in Benin, Odette T. is married to Mathieu Ossa, a hairdresser. Odette is a mother of four children in school. The family has lived in Adogléta, a neighborhood of Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin, for twelve years. The couple have six dependents and share the family expenses. Odette runs a business selling food (rice and beans) from her home. She has been running this business for the past ten years. She buys her products at the popular Dantokpa market. Odette has received seven loans and she has reimbursed all of them. With a view of improving the quality of products, Odette seeks her eighth loan with ALIDé. Odette hopes to increase her working capital.
