A loan of $725 helped buy farmland.

Judith's story

Judith, 22, lives with Ángel, who is 25. They have a two-year-old daughter named Luz Clarita. This family lives in their own house, located in the community of Sanchirio del Palomar in the central Peruvian jungle.

This brave woman has worked in agriculture for two years. Her main crops are coffee, plantains and hybrid corn; she grows them with much work and effort. She has to work twice as hard to be able to finance not only her production costs but also the cost of renting the field. But she is an optimist and is getting together capital to buy a field. In this way she will earn more and strengthen her position in agriculture, since there are many buyers who visit the area to buy quality coffee beans and fruits.

This is Judith's third loan with MFP, and despite the short time she has been working with her communal bank, she feels fortunate because of the support the members give each other. She is thinking of using this loan to add to the capital that she saved for so long and buy a field.
