A loan of $375 helped to purchase 4,000 coffee plants.

Luis's story

Luis, 22, is a single worker who lives in a small house he fixed on his agricultural land in the community of Sanchirio (central Peruvian jungle) where he can care for his crops. Since he was a child his parents taught him all he had to learn to sow and since then he enjoyed the time he spent in the field helping his parents. Four years ago he acquired agricultural land where he could finally start his own production of crops. He cultivates coffee, banana and pineapple, and with every harvest, sells them at a good price in your local cooperative. He sells the fruits to intermediaries who constantly visit the central market of their city. As he has little time in agriculture, he wants to continue growing and improving the quality of crops. This is the first loan with MFP, and the invitation he received from the local communal bank was very good as he needed support to achieve his objectives. This is why he has already thought about investing the loan in the purchase of 4 thousand coffee plants to begin the renovation of his agricultural land.
