A loan of $500 helped purchase merchandise, namely domestic items (oil, sugar, soap).

Maria Guadalupe's story

María is 28 years old and lives in San Francisco Gotera. She looks after a shop where she offers daily items. María lives together with her husband and her son, Cesar, 4 years old. Her husband works in a travel agency and together they watch over the wellbeing of their home.

This business was María's own initiative, begun as an alternative way of earning income and growing economically. She has the business in her own home and the hours that she sells aren't fixed. She is seeking a loan to purchase stock for the business such as rice, sugar, maize, beans and oil. With the money from this loan María and her husband will be acquiring what they need to offer customers and have better opportunities to improve their earnings.

María's principal goal is that her business has the stock that her customers demand, that it is prosperous and that it helps her cover the household costs, that her son grows up to be healthy with everything he needs for his development.
