A loan of $3,800 helped a member increase vegetable sales.

Maria Auxiliadora Group's story

Eleodora Q. M. is 30 years old and is married to Juan Comun Barra. They have two children: Jakeline, 5, and Maycol, 10. Eleodora is a member of the group "Maria Auxiliadora."
Eleodora and Juan are natives of the city of Huancavelica. They moved to Huancayo because Juan is a builder and hopes to find work in his field. There were no good work opportunities in Huancavelica.
Eleodora has worked for the last two years selling vegetables in the "Malteria" market in Huancayo. Her work day begins at four in the morning. She selects vegetables to buy at the wholesale market. She takes her purchases to her stall, where she sells them at retail. During the afternoon, she sells boiled corn kernels with cheese and chili pepper in the areas surrounding the market. Thanks to the effort maD. with their husbands, the women have been able to acquire a plot where they can build a house.
(In the photo, Eleodora is in the center and is wearing a "Huanca" hat.)
The loan will be used to increase vegetable sales.
