A loan of $1,300 helped a member to buy clothes, chicken, fish, shoes, thread, etc.

Rock Stars Group's story

They are Rock Stars, a group of four housewives who are also Rock fanatics, thus the group name. The members are: Rosalía López Hernández (catalogue shoe sales), María Esther V. Martínez (fish sales), Josefina López Hernández (clothing sales) and Emilia C. A. (general merchandise and bonnet sales). They live in the community of Tlapala in the State of México.

Josefina López, 32, (the woman in the light blue vest) is married and has two children who are her motivating force to work and get ahead in life. She has sold clothes for the past two years because she wanted to help her husband with household expenses and also wanted to feel useful. She sells her merchandise to neighbors and family members in her community. The clothes she offers is of good quality and she sells at a good price with easy payment terms. Her sales increase especially during this December season when she already has several pending orders. Josefina stocks up on merchandise each week because she always strives to have good variety available for her customers.

The loan will be very useful to buy clothes like: blouses, pants, skirts, shirts, gloves, scarves, etc. She’s planning to go into a new activity and to save a bit for her family’s future because she wants her children to have careers.

Like Josefina, the other group members are very happy to be getting Kiva help through Fundación Realidad because they will be able to start working and reach their goals.
