A loan of $550 helped purchase a blender, a juicer, utensils, glasses, and plates in order to open a juice bar.

Robert's story

Robert, age 42, lives at his mother’s house with her and his two grown daughters who are working and studying. Together they strive each day to get ahead. At a young age, this enterprising man learned to play various musical instruments such as the “zampoña” and the “charango” (Peruvian instruments). Due to the lack of employment, he decided to look for a job so that he could help meet his mother’s needs. Now he performs music on public transportation vehicles that travel throughout the city. Robert also sells candy after he performs his musical repertoire in order to earn more income. He enjoys his work because it is entertaining and it allows him pass through the day. However, he does not like the vehicle drivers who refuse to let him board because they consider his music to be a waste of time, yet he continues to press forward since he always desires to make progress. Robert is always thinking about the future and plans to open a juice bar at his house so that he can earn more income.

This is his fourth loan with MFP. He promises to submit his payments on time because he does not want to look bad to those who made this loan possible so that he can succeed with his businesses. Robert plans to invest the loan he requested in the purchase of equipment (a blender, a juicer, utensils, glasses, and plates) that he needs to open his juice bar.
