A loan of $375 helped to refurbish his house so that he can create a sales establishment there.

Nelson's story

Nelson is 55 years old. He lives in his own home with his wife Teresa who is 56 years old and his 5 grown-up children who also live with their respective families. Together they work hard every day to get ahead in life. This enterprising man has worked as a public transport driver for the past 30 years. He has also worked as a conductor and he says that he likes his work a lot because it has allowed him to get his children ahead in life and give them an education. Over the years, Nelson has worked for a number of different companies and he is currently in the process of renting and buying a vehicle so that he can become self employed. What he doesn't like about being a driver is that many times he has to put up with his passengers' bad tempers since some of them are very overbearing. However he is satisfied because he works only one shift from 8 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon and he makes regular profits. As Nelson is a man who has many hopes for the future, he is planning to set up a grocery store in his home as he would like to continue making progress. This is the first loan which Nelson has had from MFP and he pledges to make his repayments in a timely manner because he doesn't want to let down the people who are providing this support which will allow him to continue with his plans to get ahead. Nelson plans to invest his loan in buying materials to refurbish his house since he would like to begin work on his wish to set up a business there.
