A loan of $725 helped purchase materials such as fabric and threads to make skirts.

Raul's story

Raúl is 52 years old and lives with his wife and one of his 3 children in his own home. For more than 30 years he has made typical skirts of his region, such as pleated and striped ones, which are the designs most in demand. He does his work in a small workshop he has fitted out in his home, and works together with his wife and some family members at this activity. Without doubt there are times when he has more order, and sees it necessary to contract more work hands. He was taught to make these garments when he was very small, and he also has good memories of his family all working together to improve their circumstances. Now he has loyal clients that always seek his work, and others that seek his services by recommendation. In the future Raúl wants to repair his sewing machines. This is his second loan with MFP and he is very content knowing that he has financial support. He is also thankful to be part of his communal bank because all the members are people that he knows, and are responsible and supportive. With the loan he is seeking he will invest in the purchase of materials and supplies, such as fabric and threads of different colours, to make his garments.
