A loan of $550 helped to buy material for making 'fustanes' (traditional skirts) and blouses.

Luis's story

Luis is 23 years old and he lives in his parents' home with his parents and his siblings. More than 3 years ago he began to make 'fustanes' (traditional skirts) and blouses with designs which are traditional in his region. He works every day in a workshop which he created inside his home. His main work tool is a sewing machine. In this way he has developed his business activity. He spends half his time making these garments then spends the rest of the day studying. On weekends he goes out to sell what he has produced during the week.

Throughout his time working, Luis has seen how profitable his business has been and, in the future, he would like to buy another sewing machine so that he can increase his production of these traditional garments.

This is Luis' 3rd loan with MFP. He is very happy to know that he has financial support. He is also happy to be a part of his community bank because all the members are people who he knows. They are all responsible and very supportive of each other. He would like to thank all the people who will fund his loan because it will be very useful to him in making progress in his business. He will use his loan to buy material for making blouses and 'fustanes'.
