A loan of $1,000 helped to buy a bread-making machine.

Oscar Fabian's story

Oscar is 27 years old. He has a child with his wife and they support each other working in their bakery. They live in a peri-urban area called Perimetral which is surrounded by a salt marsh.

Five years ago Oscar got married and had to get himself an income to support his family. Little by little, with experience and by making bread, he managed to buy machines and ovens to expand his business. Currently he buys raw materials such as flour, butter and eggs weekly to make bread and sweet pastries for his bakery. He works from 4.30am baking bread and serves until 6.00pm.

He will use his loan to buy a bread-making machine and an oven so that he can a larger volume of bread. In the future, he would like to have larger premises for his bakery and provide his family with a better life.
