Rosaura's story

Rosaura is a 49-year-old mother of four who lives with her family in Siquirres, Limón, located near the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. The loan consultant who has been working with Rosaura describes her as a hard working, busy entrepreneur who fills her time with a variety of activities.

An experienced businesswoman, this will be Rosaura´s 6th loan with Fundación Mujer. Rosaura has been successful in combining her business instincts and diligent work ethic in order to take advantage of past loans and make improvements to her business.

Rosaura runs a sewing business, where she produces various types of clothing for men, women and children such as bags, pajamas, socks and shirts. She is applying for the current loan as a method to increase her working capital in order to satisfy the demands of her clients. With this loan, Rosaura plans to invest in a new sewing machine, fabric, threads, needles, and other sewing materials.

On a typical day, Rosaura wakes up early and takes care of household chores. After cooking and cleaning, she dedicates her time to the activities of her business: making sales, sewing clothes, collecting on repayments, making purchases, etc. At the moment, Rosaura runs her business from her home. In the future, her goal is to open a central location in order to offer her sewing products to clients.
