This committee is called "Kuña Rory" and is in its tenth loan cycle with the Enterprising Women's Committee Program. All the members are very responsible and hardworking women who work at a variety of businesses.

Some of the members already had work before becoming part of the Enterprising Women's Committee and joined up in order to be able to make improvements in their enterprises. Others however are just starting up their first business activity apart from their responsibilities to family.

The women appreciate the Fundación Paraguaya for the initiative since it is through the initiative that we are able to see considerable development in our ability to work.

They all maintain separate businesses but with help and effort they are doing it jointly.

The committee is made up of self-sacrificing women who have struggled their whole lives to get their families ahead in spite of the obstacles which always exist.

We may comment on the case of Dionicia who for a number of years has worked selling milk and produce. She gets up very early to milk her cow in order to go out and sell the milk. She sells in the city of Carapegua where she has a vegetable stand.

Dionicia especially appreciates the Fundación because by means of their support she was able to acquire more capital and thus could expand her business. She now has more merchandise and also a freezer.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
