Cecilia Paola P. S. is the treasurer of the 'Señor de Cachuy' community bank (in the photo she is the fourth person from the right and is wearing a black sweater).

At only 19 years old, Cecilia fell in love with the man who would become the father of her child, the policeman Lieutenant Rojas. They had made plans for their future and for their wedding but sadly one month before the wedding he was killed in the line of duty. At that time, she was pregnant with her only child Patric.

Cecilia was abandoned in all senses as, because she wasn't married, the law stated that she couldn't claim her fiancé's pension.

Cecilia had to work as hard as she could so that her little one didn't want for anything. Currently she sells food as a street trader and she also travels to the city of Cañete to help her brother who owns a bakery.

She will use her loan to add to her food business by starting to sell sodas.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
