Zayrakan K. is 54 and has eight children; seven are grown and live on their own, and the youngest son studies at school. Her husband Jamanak worked at the local school for 37 years as a teacher of mathematics and now is on pension.

More than 20 years ago, in order to find a means of subsistence for their large family, Zayrakan with her husband decided to engage in livestock breeding, with the initial sum of 16,000 Kyrgyz Soms. With the revenue, they were able to give a good education to all of their children. In spite of all expenses of the large family, they managed to expand their herd of cattle and today Zayrakan’s farm has four milch cows, thirty sheep, ten goats and two horses.

Zayrakan wants to use this loan of 100,000 KGS to buy more cattle. With the revenue from this loan, Zayrakan plans to reconstruct a barn for her cattle to provide good conditions of cattle maintenance.
