Mean's Group's story

This village loan consists of eight members, all residents of Ruessei Srok village, Kandal Province. Mrs. Mean C., a 38-year-old married woman, was selected as the village bank president by its members. The group loan members will each use their portion of the loan to support their different purposes.

Mrs. Mean C. earns her living by selling bananas. Since her business is going well, she wants to expand it and so is requesting a loan to buy more bananas. Her husband, Mr. Un Sopheak, 38 years old, works as car driver, earning a little salary to support his family. This couple has four children, three of whom are attending the local school, while the fourth is four years old and not yet in school.
