In this Group: Srun, Mey, Srorn, Khy, Pos
These five people make up a group loan located in Prey Ta Pong village in Takeo province. Each of them will use their portion of the loan in a way that can improve their family's standard of living. Mrs. Srun P., who is 46 years old, is the group leader selected by the other members.

She and her husband, Mr. Sray Chhorn, are farmers who own a one-hectare plot of land to grow rice to sell to support their family. He is also a cow middleman.

Since her husband’s business is going well at this time, she would like to expand this business, so she is seeking a loan to add more money to buy a cow for resale.

This couple has four children, two of whom are employed in a garment factory and the others are students.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
