A loan of $200 helped to buy more products to stock her store.

Yobana's story

Yobana, age 26, is a very unassuming and happy woman. She lives in a rented house with her beloved daughter, 11 year old Keyle. She is the motivation for all of her efforts. Yobana’s grocery store is one of the most popular in the village of Santa Rosa (in the Ayachuchan jungle). Her great charisma and the kind way she treats her customers has made her a neighborhood favorite. Her neighbors do not hesitate to shop, starting very early, at her store. They know that she is the first to open her business. What she likes the most about her work is talking with her neighbors. She has had her store for three years. The hardest part is having to stay in her store for most of the day without having a lot of time to work her land. Later on she hopes to expand the premises of her store in order to have more products to sell. This is her fifth loan with MFP. She knows that if she pays on time she will be able to access another loan with greater ease and without causing problems in her communal bank. She is well-liked by the other members. She will use the 500 soles that she requested to buy more products to stock her grocery store.
