A loan of $725 helped to buy fertilizer.

Victoria's story

Victoria is 54 years old. She is a very happy and hard-working woman. She lives in her own home together with her two dependent children for whom she wants to provide a better quality of life. In her beloved town of Santa Rosa, Victoria has spent most of her life learning how to farm, an activity which her family is engaged in. Today she grows cacao, coffee and coca leaf which has provided her with the income she needs to support her family. She sells her harvests in the town of San Francisco which is where she obtains the best prices for her products.

What Victoria most likes about her work is sowing her fields and she does this with great care. She has been in this business for 30 years and considers that the most difficult thing about it is transporting her products since transport is very scarce in her area. Over time, she would like to buy new land in order to increase her production.

This is Victoria's second loan with MFP. She has been very punctual in making her repayments up to now and hopes to continue being so. She is a very active member of her community bank and is very well liked by the rest of the members. She will use the 2,000 nuevos soles she is requesting to buy more fertilizer for her land.
