Plan De Lucha 2 & 3 Group's story

Claritza is one of the members of the Plan D. Lucha ("Battle Plan") 2 & 3 Group, located in the city of Hato Mayor, a primarily agricultural region. It is one of the most rural cities in the Dominican Republic, where there are often drinking water and electricity shortages. The population of this area is comprised of Dominicans and Haitian immigrants. Her primary activity is selling undergarments. Claritza is the mother of 2 children, who live with her and her father. She tells us that her biggest challenge has been working to help her children get ahead. Her favorite activity is tending to her business. Claritza is very excited to receive her second loan through Esperanza Internacional, after having successfully repaid her previous loan. This was a step toward making her business grow. She has had her business for about 2 years, which she started with a small amount of savings she had, and with her initiative to generate income and be useful. She plans to invest this new loan into purchasing various types of undergarments. She plans to use her earnings to buy a fan, and to save for investment in her business. Her dream is to have a well-established business.
