A loan of $1,075 helped buy seeds for cacao and coffee, and buy sacks of fertilizer.

Juana's story

Juana, 45 years old, is a woman who has worked very hard all her life. She lives with her husband Narciso, 45, and their three beloved children, to whom she wants to offer a better quality of life.

Juana grows cacao, coffee and coca leaves. Every morning, starting very early, she works in her fields so her plants will be fertile and she will have a good crop. What she likes most about her work is protecting the crop from insects because they are detrimental to the plants and harm their growth. She has been doing this work for eight years, and she believes the most difficult part is transporting her products to market because she has to be very careful with them. In the future she would like to buy more land so she can plant more.

This is Juana's seventh loan from MFP. She knows she has to make her payments punctually, and she is ready to do so. In her communal bank she is very committed to the group's development. With the three thousand new soles she has requested, she will buy seeds for cacao and coffee. She will also buy fertilizer to use on her land and assure a good crop.
