A loan of $375 helped to buy cocoa beans, coffee and sacks of manure.

Faustina's story

Faustina, 35, is a hard working, cheerful woman. She lives in a rented house with her two beloved children, Cintia, 16, and Maylin, 14, for whom she wants to provide a better quality of life.

The fields Faustina has always farmed with so much effort have always provided the necessary income to support her daughters. She farms cocoa, coffee and coca leaves which are sold in the city of San Francisco because that’s where the best prices are available for her products.

What she enjoys most about her work is planting, something she does with much patience. On the other hand, she must insure that her plants are safe from insect infestations that attack and damage fruit production. In the future she hopes to be able to expand her fields in order to plant more.

This is her first loan with MFP. She’s aware that she must pay on time and is willing to do so. She is a member of her communal bank very committed to her group’s development.

She will use the requested 1000 new soles to buy more cocoa and coffee seeds as well as manure to protect the upcoming planting.
