Edward M’atheru is a farmer residing in the town of Nkubu in eastern Kenya. He has been practicing mixed farming for the last 20 years. He produces beans, maize, millet, passion fruit, bananas, and milk that he sells to the local market.
Edward has a monthly pension, as he used to work as a veterinarian. He has requested a loan of 60,000 Kenyan shillings (KES) from Juhudi Kilimo to buy a dairy cow. He hopes to improve the dairy-farming aspect of his business and buy 3 more dairy cows. The extra income from the loan will improve his family's living standards. His main challenge is the high cost of dairy feed.
