Villa's Group's story

Villa F. is from the village of San Antonio, Cauayan City, Isabela. She is 41 years old. Villa is the leader for a 5-member group loan offered by ASKI. While each member of the group receives an individual loan, they are all collectively responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members if someone is delinquent or defaults. Villa is married and has 3 school-aged children. To make a living, Villa prepares and sells cooked food for daily meals. Villa has been engaged in her business for more than a year and earns approximately 2500 PHP each month. Villa joined ASKI this year to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Villa is requesting her first loan, for 6000 PHP, to be used to purchase raw ingredients needed to make products for sale. She plans to use the additional revenue generated as a result of the loan to improve and expand her business. About ASKI: ASKI is one of the most successful microfinance institutions in the Philippines. It has 38 branches covering the Central and Northeastern areas. Its clients are mostly farmers, fishers and small entrepreneurs. *Note: To maximize efficiency and reduce costs, this loan was posted using a template to automate the translation by Kiva.
